World History Current Event Assignment (Tuesday, December 3, 2013)

All World History students are required to do their second current event of the nine weeks today. Students will choose one of the following links (AND ONLY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING LINKS) and will read their chosen article then complete their current event using the same format as the current event template provided in the picture below. Once you have completed the current event is done, you may print it or save it to a jump drive. If you decide to save it to a jump drive,please email the document to Mrs. Songe at csonge@lafourche.k12.la.us  This assignment is due no later than Friday, December 8, 2013.

Muckraker Project

Students are to click on the following link:

Students should research their assigned Muckraker using the links provided on the website. Students should take notes while researching so that they can "teach" their group-mates upon return to class. Students should be knowledgeable about the following bits of information:

1. What industry/company the Muckraker wrote about
2. Quotes from the Muckraker's writing
3. What reaction was gained by the public upon reading the Muckraker's work
4. What reforms were pushed/passed because of the Muckraker's work

Students should be able to draw a picture that is representative of their Muckraker upon completion of their research!
